Hillingdon Admiral Nurse team
Admiral Nurses are specialist dementia nurses who work with families, carers and supporters of people with dementia with complex needs.
Professionals and carers can contact us on 01895 556480 to request advice. They provide emotional and psychological support - particularly around changes and transitions, such as diagnosis and decisions around entry into care and they enable carers to improve and develop their coping skills to assist with care giving.
The Hillingdon Admiral Nurses offer various support, ranging from intensive one-to-one support in a carer's home (when appropriate), to providing information days for carers and telephone support.
Carers' information day
The Hillingdon Admiral Nurse Team run carers' information days throughout the year at the Civic Centre in Uxbridge. The day is specifically for family carers who are caring for someone who has (is likely to have) a formal diagnosis of dementia. The day offers information on dementia and provides practical advice and support for carers from a variety of guest speakers.

Harlington Hospice
Harlington Hospice offers a Caring with Confidence course for carers of people with dementia to help them develop their caring role skills, gain confidence in dealing with some of the challenging issues they face, and learn techniques to enhance their own self-care.
Caring with Confidence is a free session that carers can do while their loved one is cared for by Harlington Hospice's staff and volunteers.
