It is the licence holder's responsibility to ensure that an approved chaperone (or matron) is appointed to care for the child. You may not undertake any matron/chaperone duties until you are registered/re-registered. You can find out more about the role in the

What we need to see
If you would like to become a chaperone you will need to complete the chaperone application form below.
The Applications Admin team will provide you with login information to apply online for a DBS certificate.
Once you have completed the application form and your online enhanced DBS application, please email us with all the relevant documents, along with 1 passport size photo.

You will need to send a form of documentation from each category.
Please note for group 2b you will need to send in 2 items.
You must allow a minimum of 2 months for your application to be processed.
Once a satisfactory DBS report and references are received, you will need to complete the online chaperone training with NSPCC and attend either a short face to face or virtual interview with the borough's Child Employment and Entertainment officer. The link for the online training will be sent to you. Please ensure you send your certificate as evidence of completion.
Please note: The chaperone training and interview is now compulsory in LBH. Without these, you will not be granted your licence to chaperone.

Fees
For professional chaperones, the cost of a licence is £150. This includes training costs which is mandatory to attend.
There is no fee for a volunteer chaperone licence, but you will be expected to cover the cost of for the training only. The cost of the training is £25 and is mandatory.
