School improvements
The Hillingdon School Improvement Plan is the foundation of our schools improvement project, which helps to ensure all children in the borough access schools and settings that are judged to be at least 'good' and constantly aspiring to improve to become (and remain) 'outstanding'.
Recent projects
Vyners Secondary School
- New 2-storey building, accommodating 12 classrooms, ICT suite, library, group spaces, dining, administration space, toilets and an all-weather pitch
- Scheduled completion of December 2019
- 300 additional school places created
Hillside Infant and Junior Schools
- New standalone building with 12 new classrooms, hall, studio, ICT suite, library, design technology room, kitchen, group spaces, staff administration spaces and toilets
- Remodelling of the existing entrance
- New drop-off facility
- Reorientation of the sports pitch and installation of a new 2-court multi-use games area
- Completed September 2019
- 216 additional school places created
Warrender Primary School
- New 2-storey building accommodating 8 new classrooms, ICT suite, library, design technology room, group spaces, a staff and administration space and toilets
- Reorganisation of car park to increase its capacity
- Remodelling of pathways leading to the main entrance
- Installation of a new multi-use games area and a sports pitch
- Completed April 2019
- 210 additional school places created
Oak Wood School (formerly Abbotsfield)
- New state-of-the-art classrooms, modern learning spaces and ICT suites
- Large library
- Purpose-built drama and music areas
- 4-court sports hall and external sports courts
- Dance studio
- Addition of on-site vocational training centre
- Completed February 2018
- 375 additional school places created
Northwood Secondary School
- New 3-storey building
- 53 classrooms, including specialist rooms for performing arts, science, art, design and technology
- Special educational needs spaces
- 4-court sports hall
- Stage area and large dance studio
- All-weather external pitches and multi-use games areas
- Completed October 2016
- 150 additional school places created
