Become a parent champion
We are looking for parent champions to help improve the lives of families in their local communities.
Parent champion volunteers are parents who enjoy meeting with other parents/carers, sharing their own experiences and talking for a few hours each week about services available for families in Hillingdon. They provide families with information about local services including those for children with special educational needs or a disability, and early years childcare.
Parent champions provide an important bridge between the council and parents in their local area. Being a parent champion volunteer gives you the opportunity to make a real difference!
To become a parent champion, you will be committing to:
- working voluntarily for a few hours a week
- talking to other parents about opportunities available to them and their child(ren) and listen to what they say
- attending parent champion support meetings
- maintaining confidentiality and protect family information.
You will also need a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check (criminal record check) and you will be expected to complete and return monitoring forms and follow council guidelines.
If you're interested in becoming a parent champion, please email fis@hillingdon.gov.uk or apply online.
