Intentionally homeless

If you remain homeless (including those in temporary accommodation) at the end of the 56-day relief period and are in a priority need category, we will assess whether your homelessness was intentional.

We will consider if your current situation is due to a deliberate action or inaction on your part, such as knowingly failing to pay rent to your landlord.

If we determine that you are intentionally homeless, even if you have a priority need, we may only provide emergency accommodation or allow you to remain in any temporary housing we have arranged for a short period. This will give you enough time to secure alternative housing, and we will take your circumstances into account, but we will not be able to provide ongoing accommodation beyond this limited timeframe.
