E-petitions
An e-petition is an alternative to collecting physical signatures.
If you want to set up an e-petition, you will first need to register (with your name, email address and postal address).
Your e-petition must only relate to 1 issue and you will need to include:
- a title for your petition (and the application number if it relates to a planning application)
- the reason for your petition
- what action you would like the council to take
- when you want the petition to end (maximum of 1 month).
The council also accepts electronic petitions created on other sites, providing they include a name, indication of borough residency and valid email address for each signatory. We may ask you to confirm this.

Paper petitions
We have developed a paper petition template that you are welcome to use. It is available in PDF and MS Word format, which you can edit and print.
Paper petitions can be scanned and emailed to democratic@hillingdon.gov.uk or posted to:
Head of Democratic Services
Hillingdon Council

After you have submitted a petition
Upon receipt of your petition, we will review it and send the lead petitioner a letter or email acknowledgement within 5 working days, advising of the next steps.
We will keep the petition organiser updated and informed of the progress of the petition.
