Hillingdon Community MARAC

The Hillingdon Community Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC) is a confidential meeting where professionals share information on the highest risk and complex cases related to anti-social behaviour, so that appropriate action is taken to increase public safety and manage risk.

Important: Hillingdon Community MARAC is not an agency and does not have a case management function. The responsibility to take appropriate action rests with the individual agency, who will manage the risk. Responsibility is not transferred to Community MARAC.

Who attends the meetings?

Meetings are held monthly and are jointing chaired by our head of community safety and the Met's partnership policing inspector.

Meetings are attended by representatives from:

  • Anti-social Behaviour and Environment Team
  • Community Safety
  • Police
  • London Fire Brigade
  • MIND
  • Mental Health Services
  • Housing
  • Adult Social Care.

Additional agencies are also invited for specific cases if they are concerned about a case or there is a benefit to them attending.

    Who can be referred?

If a victim is subject to anti-social behaviour, and either they (or the perpetrator) is vulnerable (or a risk to either themselves or others), professionals can submit a referral form where they feel the case would benefit from a multi-agency action plan.

Examples of cases that can be heard at Community MARAC include cuckooing, hate crime, exploitation, mental health, substance/financial abuse, neighbour disputes and criminal damage.

    Please note: Community MARAC:

    • only accepts referrals for adults over the age of 18
    • will not accept cases that fall under the responsibility of another panel, such as the Domestic Abuse MARAC, MAPPA or Mental Health High-Risk Panel.

    Referral process

    1. Complete the Community MARAC referral form (Word doc) [82KB] (which includes a risk assessment), providing as much information that is relevant for your referral - this will help the case when it's being considered. Email the form to communitymarac@Hillingdon.gov.uk.
    2. Once the form has been received, Community MARAC will review the referral to ensure enough information has been provided.

Please note: If there is not sufficient information, the referral will be returned to the referrer for further details to be added.
    3. Any new referrals will be added to the agenda for the following month's meeting. Invites will then be sent to all involved in the case.

Important: The referrer must be available to attend the meeting to present the case to the panel.
