Response from the Leader of the Council following today's statement from Trafalgar Theatres

"Yesterday we were progressing with our offer of a new three-year deal at a peppercorn rent and the council still remains open to further negotiations with them.

"We recognise that residents will likely have questions to ask following the publication of the statement from Trafalgar Theatres particularly concerning their reference to 'developing' the Beck Theatre. Their statement omitted to say that both parties recognised that the Beck was an ageing building and that the option discussed included a new modern Beck Theatre on the site with them continuing at the helm."
