Printer ink cartridges recycling
The materials used to make printer ink cartridges are all recyclable, and most contain some metal parts along with the plastic and ink. This means that your ink cartridges can be used to raise money when recycled in bulk by charities.
It's very important that ink cartridges are not disposed of in household waste, as they will still contain a small amount of ink, which contains chemicals that will run away into the soil, and the plastic casing could take hundreds of years to degrade.
Where can I recycle ink cartridges?
Glebe Primary School, Ickenham, is collecting ink cartridges, which they send off to be recycled - the money raised goes towards the school's gardening club.
They have collection boxes at their school site and in the following libraries in Hillingdon:
You can also dispose of your ink cartridges at Harefield Civic Amenity Site.
