Family fun at Cranford Park for 2024
Tuesday 23 January, 2024: From crafting and bird-spotting, celebrating sticks and a special April Fool's event, there's something for everyone at Cranford Park for 2024.
Things kick off with a guided bird spotting walk on Sunday 28 January, where visitors will have the chance to glimpse the mercurial kingfisher, along with the park's many other ornithological offerings. The event runs from midday to 1pm and booking is required.
If you've ever wondered how much fun you can have with a humble stick, then the popular family event 'Stickfest' could be for you. Take part in stick-themed games, crafts and other activities for children aged three and over, on Thursday 15 February from 10am to 3pm. There's no need to book, just turn up.
The popular Easter egg hunt returns on Saturday 30 March, running from 10am to 4pm for ages three and up, no booking is required.
On Monday 1 April, join for the 'Fools of Cranford', where professional story-tellers and improv artists will bring a touch of nonsense to the day. Take part in a guided nature trail where fact is utter fiction, or do some barmy art, all under the guidance of the park's special helpers.
In June, keep your eyes peeled for details of how to enter a special catapult-building competition, where schools and clubs will be encouraged to design their own machine capable of flinging an apple as far as possible.
Cllr Eddie Lavery, Hillingdon Council's Cabinet Member for Residents' Services, said: "We're looking forward to a bumper year at the newly-restored Cranford Park, with the new café also scheduled to open in late spring, so there'll be somewhere to relax and unwind after your adventures.
"From guided walks to yoga sessions and special tours there's something to suit all tastes and if you'd prefer something more sedate, please just come and enjoy the fresh air and wildlife but be sure to stop off at our café for a mug of something warm afterwards."
