Council wins planning excellence award
Thursday 30 March 2023: Hillingdon Council's local land charges team won the top award for customer satisfaction at the Local Land Charges Awards for Excellence held in Bristol on Tuesday 28 March.
Solicitors, licensed conveyancers and search agents were asked to nominate local authority teams for this category that they believe are committed to delivering a consistently high level of customer service. They were asked to consider quality, efficiency, reliability and value for money.
The industry awards recognise outstanding performance, with local land charges teams from 65 local authorities across the country nominated in nine categories.
Cllr Eddie Lavery, Hillingdon Council's Cabinet Member for Residents' Services, said: "To be nominated and have won this award for our high level of customer service by those who regularly engage with our local land charges team is fantastic. For them to be recognised for their professionalism, efficiency and reliability is a credit to their hard work and I'd like to congratulate them on this well-deserved award."
Fiona Barron, Land Data's Chief Executive, and one of the award judges, said: "It has been inspiring to see such resilience, tenacity and high levels of performance in this year's judging and award entries. The shortlisted teams are delivering land and property searches at the highest standard, going above and beyond to ensure that residents are able to buy new homes as quickly and smoothly as possible."
